Confidence Building summer EXPERIENCE for Blind & Visually Impaired Youth July 28 to August 3
The Association of Blind Citizens (ABC) is sponsoring a weeklong experience in Durham, New Hampshire for legally blind youth between the ages of 12-16. ABC is a not for profit, all volunteer, organization that has been providing programs and services for the blind and visually impaired community for the past 24 years. This program is an outgrowth of our experience in operating camps for blind children. Participants will spend the week enjoying group activities that will enrich the way they experience their surroundings! The trainers will engage the students with activities to help them build self-confidence. Some of the activities being planned include music, group games, archery, biking, team building, Frisbee golf and swimming. Musical entertainment with participation and adaptive board games will fill the evening hours. This will be a week of learning about new and fun activities and a chance to meet new friends. The program will take place the week of July 28 to August 3, 2024. Transportation from Boston will be provided by ABC.
If the participant lives in MA, this camp experience is free this year. If the participants live in other New England states the early bird tuition is $500 when registering by June 15. If registration occurs by June 30 the tuition is $750 and July 1 or later the tuition is $1000. The tuition covers all meals and snacks, activities, air-conditioned lodging, and entertainment. Some scholarships may be available. Transportation is not included if you live outside the Boston area and is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Agency purchase orders, checks, credit cards are welcomed.
